SOC Headquarters Waterston House, otherwise know as The Scottish Birdwatching Resource Centre, is the headquarters of the SOC. The centre is only a two minute walk from the hotel and offers fantastic panoramic views of Aberlady Bay and the Nature Reserve. It is also home to the George Waterston Library which is open to the general public and houses the largest collection of ornithological reference books and journals in Scotland. The centre has a small shop stocking all you need for bird watching trips as well as gifts and refreshments. Whats on? Goose Watch : Thursday 15th October, 4.30pm Tuesday 20th October, 4.30pm SOC are holding two events this year, where members of the public can learn about the migration of Pink-footed Geese from Iceland and Greenland to there wintering grounds in Scotland. Programme includes a short illustrated presentation, opportunity to watch the breathtaking spectacle of around 15,000 geese flying in to roost on the nearby reserve and light refreshments are served.
